Amazon Wilderness Trek

Discover the wild beauty of the Amazon rainforest, the most biodiverse ecosystem of our planet!

Paying respect to the diverse natural habitat, it will be only the bare necessities used that you need to survive as you trek through the jungle.

You’ll trek the untrodden paths of the cloud forest and rainforest lowland in Peru, camp in the middle of the jungle and visit an amazing Indigenous village to learn about their harmonious way of life.

The life-changing adventure gives you the chance to spot an Amazon-azing array of animals, from bats, hummingbirds and parrots to monkeys, sloths and tapirs. Keep your eyes peeled as if you’re really lucky, you may see a jaguar!

You’ll trek through misty forest, identify more plants than you ever knew existed and enjoy stunning boat rides on the astonishingly wild Madre de Dios River, a main tributary of the mighty River Amazon.

As if that’s not enough to get excited about, you also have the special chance to build shelters using only the resources provided by Mother Nature and spot the giant river otters playing in their stunning jungle lake!

At the beginning and end of your adventure, you’ll see another side of Peru with free days to explore the ancient Inca capital of Cusco.

Worried about fundraising?

Don't be...the Amazon Wilderness trek is an Open Challenge – this means you have the option to self fund your participation and there is no minimum fundraising requirement.

You are, of course, more than welcome to commit to a minimum sponsorship target instead and fundraise a minimum amount of £3,750 for Jo’s.
