Freaking out a bit!!

Hi All,

so im 7 weeks post treatment, chemo radiotherapy and brachytherapy for stage 3b cc

this morning i found a lump in my breast panic set in and I started freaking out. Went to my GP and I’m getting referred to a breast specialist, for ultra sound scan.

am hoping it’s just hormonal changes after everything my body has been through but it’s hard not to think the worse. Anyone else had this wondering if it’s quite common.

Hi Marie

I do believe hormone changes can cause breast changes and hopefully this is what you are experiencing, did you have a PET scan for staging? Not breast related but I had something show up on my kidney once on a scan - turned out to be a fatty lump type thing so our bodies do have all sorts of lumps and bumps. Also very good that your GP is arranging for it to be checked and hopefully that will give you reassurance xx

Thanks w.w

yes had a pet scan so presumably there wasn’t nothing at that time that was worrying or it would of showed up. If it is then it’s very early.

im sure it’s just hormonal due to everything gone on. Will find out in a couple of weeks got an appointment they do all tests and results the same day.

thanks xx

Hi Mariewendy,

i has exactly the same and was also freaking out. Finished chemo rads 5 weeks ago and found a lump in my breast this week. I saw a consultant today and had a mammogram, ultrasound. They found 2 cysts and one was pretty big. They drained both. One is being sent off to be double checked but they are very confident it’s not cancer. They did say it’s probably due to hormonal changes so hopefully this will be the case for you.

I hope you get on ok at your appointment.

Thanks ladies for your reply’s,

After the first couple of days freaking out I managed to talk myself into it been nothing and due to hormonal changes in my body, so haven’t given it much thought.

Had my appointment with the breast specialist today, a few tests done and they are confident it’s just a cyst so nothing to worry about. It will just get left  unless it grows any bigger and becomes painful then they will drain it. Big relief!!

thank you for your kind words xxx
