Menopause and spacers

Hi, first time I have posted. I recently finished chemotherapy  radiotherapy and brachytherapy in February. I have been having menopausal symptoms. I'm 37. I have been advised to go on HRT. How soon after treatment finished did anyone go on HRT? Does anyone have any good natural hrt replacement experience?

also I'm wondering if I am using the spacers correctly. My CNS said that I may bleed etc after but I don't feel anything? How often do you use the spacers? How long for?

thanks so much for any help

Hi, what are spacers? I'm on bioidentical hormones after taking the synthetic kind for 9 months and not a high enough dose. I feel better than I've done for months.

06 Jan 20 massive bleed. 7 feb 20 smear came back highly differentiated severe dyskolious. 14 Feb biopsies taken. 21st Feb cc cells found. 22 Feb 20 told poorly differentiated squamous cell. 28 Feb staged at 2a. Tumour is 2.4mm/9mm 6 March restaged at 3c due to 3 lymph node involvement - x1 2cm. 12 Mar 20 met oncologist - told me coronavirus will probably kill me before cc does. 18 March 20 pre scan booked.

Hi Leanne,

Do you mean dilators? I have to use mine 3 times a week and was told I'd have to use them up to 2 years. I might only need them for a year. I will know I suppose when I have internal checks.

I started hrt 2 to 3 weeks after finishing brachy. The CN nurse said they'd recommend 3 months to wait but I couldn't deal with the symptoms - hot flushes, no sleep, moods and night sweats. I wanted to tear the faces off my children and Bury my husband in the back garden after blungening him to death with a heavy object just for breathing. After a week or so I felt so much better. However, I do really recommen the bioidentical ones and seeking an hrt specialist privately to prescribe a more suitable does and testosterone gel (currently not prescribed on nhs for menapause)

Hi Leanne,

If you mean dialators, I am 17 months out of treatment and use mine once a week. If I dont, I can notice the difference. In the first 6 months I probably used them twice a week.

I'm 18 months post treatment & like Maria I still have to use them. I've been using mine once a week, but I'm gonna try to start doing at least 2 if I can, at my last appointment they said had some scar tissue. For the first 6 months I was told to use them everyday for 20 minutes, which I did. But I think that was a little excessive but I have a jerk guy doctor lol. I think it something we might have to use forever, I definitely notice a difference when I get lazy with them.
