New symptoms following hysterectomy 8yrs ago

Hi Everybody,

whilst going through my situation and treatment 8-10yrs ago this forum was a godsend for me!

briefly I was diagnosed as 1a1 in 2005 aged 24, advised to have children quickly and had numerous LLETZ, scrapes etc. Was told I'd need a hysterectomy by the time I was 30. My cancer returned just before my second daughters almost 1st birthday...I delayed my surgery until just after her 1st birthday broke up with my husband later and moved from Wales to England..last Vault smear with consultant in 2014.

8yrs later after no problems atall I'm concerned. I'm spotting after inter course...I have lots of lower tummy pain (though this seems to be when I think about it).

GP's are busy with coronavirus and I'm really worrying. Please help. Am I worring unnecessarily?

Hi NicolaA81,

I can't offer any specific knowledge or expertise, but as someone going though treatment during the pandemic, I would say get yourself checked out. Doctors and hospitals are still there for people with genuine concerns, and the anxiety of new symptoms to someone who has had cancer in the past will be dealt with properly.
For your own sense of calm, I would get this looked at.  It is most likely nothing to worry about so seeing a medical professional will allow you to relax and get back on with your life.

Much love. Xx

Lletz under GA on 19/3/20, mri on 21/3, Results cc: stage 1b no sign of lymph involvement. 18/4/20 Radical hysterectomy with lymph node removal 6/5/20 Histology shows microscopic Involvement 2 nodes. Moved to stage 3. Chemo rads planned.
