Swollen hard vein like line

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced this.

I noticed swelling in my outer labia less than a week ago. There was a tender fleshy lump (that has subsided) and leading from this along the inner side of my labia a hard line almost as if there is a hard swollen vein.

It is sore to touch and visibly swollen. Sometimes feels a bit itchy, but is generally uncomfortable.

i am nearly 5 years post radical trachalectomy and have very mild lower limb lymphadema that sometimes affects my groin and pelvis. However my legs are usually the first sign of a flare up and I'm otherwise fine lymphadema wise as I manage it with running.

i have tried to contact the nurses at the marsden but am still waiting a response and my GP's response is always to ask me to speak to the team at the hospital regarding anything gynae. But I find that unless it's to do directly with my cervical area they often aren't interested. I feel like this leaves me in limbo as no one is willing to look in to it for me.

I can't find any info on such a complaint, could anyone let me know if you have experienced similar?

thanks as always

Hi Keira,

Obviously any new symptoms should be checked out after what we've been through but I just wanted to say I have had this exact same thing a few times over the past 9 years (3 times). Once when I was pregnant with my large baby, once since cancer treatment and can't remember the other. I believe I was told it's just like a hemorrhoid. I used hemorrhoid cream on it and it went away in a few days. It may not be the same thing but you can get them there and my symptoms were the exact same.

Thanks Maria!

obviously I'll still get some medical advice, but that's very reassuring. I've had similar before and it did go away. It would be helpful to know what it is and why it's happened if it is inconsequential.

it's so useful to talk to people who have been through the same. Sometimes I feel like not all side effects are known or discussed.

thanks again!

Yes I agree Keira,

Despite many of our treatments being so similar, our side effects can be very different. Always a bit of a worry.
