I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in situ in September and had a cone biopsy with clear margins. In January I had another colposcopy and they found LSIL. I had a hysterectomy 4 days ago. I'm waiting on the final pathology and I just have such a bad feeling about it, I'm so afraid they'll find invasive cancer or more AIS. But I don't know how common it is, to find that it's more advanced at this stage? This whole experience has been so surprising, and at every turn my doctor has thought things wouldn't be as bad as they ended up, so I keep getting my hopes up and then dashed with unexpected bad news. Does anybody know, how common is it to go months with one diagnosis only to have it bumped up after hysterectomy?
