I'm new to the forum. I've been reading your posts over the past few weeks which have helped in giving me strength while I've been going through my diagnosis.

Mine is Adenocarcinoma with one suspect lymph node following MRI and CT so I've got to have a PET scan this week to find out more. My treatment is up in the air at the moment - either hysterectomy or if there is lymph node involvement then it will be chemorads and brachytherapy.

I'm a 37 year old mother of 1 and it was picked up from my smear test as I've had no symptoms and it all came as quite a shock. I was told during colposcopy / Lletz that it was possible cancer so I was prepared for the biopsy results when they finally confirmed it.

Anyhow I just wanted to introduce myself as I've found it supportive to read people's posts and hope to support you all in the same way.

Smear, no symptoms of anything wrong 08/10

Hi,

Welcome, even though its under these circumstances.

You will find a lot of ladies in here that have similar experiences as yourself. Any questions no matter how silly you think they are just ask, someone will have thought the same.

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking.

I'm currently in limbo at the moment. I was diagnosed in July 2020 after 2 years of abnormal smears.

I was initially diagnosed as having stage 2b but the cancer was aggressive and within a month it was 3b and I was in kidney failure.

As a result of the kidney failure, I have bilateral nephrostomys but because of this I couldn't have chemo. I had 25 sessions of radiotherapy and 3 sessions of brachytherapy.

I've been for about 6 weeks now and I've got my MRI on the 18th December. I am so worried that because I couldn't have chemo the radiotherapy won't have worked as well. There doesn't seem to be many people who are stage 3b and have had a similar experience to me.

Congratulations on being NED. X

Adenocarcinoma here too. Seems my lymph nodes have dodged the bullet though.

It's scary so scary! I'm glad you've found this forum though - it is so helpful to talk to others facing the same things, and helping keep it all in perspective. It's an absolute roller coaster. I just got my letter today after my consultation following my second LLETZ and even though I know what's happening, it was just confirming what they told me, it tipped me back onto my face when I've been starting to feel a bit more normal again. All this waiting is awful. I'd probably have been in having my hysterectomy now if it weren't for the pandemic. It's a dreadful time to be diagnosed! I hope your news is good for you in the end and I hope you carry on coming here when you need support. You're not alone.

Hello,

Adenocarcinoma here too, stage 1a1 though and confirmed no lymph node from an MRI one week ago.

Im glad you are on the forum, it truely is a supportive and understanding place to come when you are struggling and riding this rollercoaster.

Sending you positive vibes and hoping for the best for you. The waiting is the hardest part.

Thank you ladies. It's lovely to hear from you and I wish you the best with your treatment.

It is scary and just when you are processing one thing, the bloody lymph node shows up. I had a chest X-ray and MRI initially but then the X-ray showed something on my right rib so had to have CT scan but following this they don't think it's anything so that's a bit of a relief. I had the PET scan yesterday to look at the lymph node so just waiting for the results. I'm all psyched up for the chemorads now. Just want to get cracking.

The pandemic is very frustrating! You'd hope that it wouldn't impact on treatment like ours but unfortunately it sounds like your op is slower than it would normally be! X
