any of you have fevers?

I'm in the hospital, been here for 6 days because I have fevers of about 103 all day every day. I got diagnosed with cc 2b on Friday and the doctors are saying I either have an infection or its just how my body is reacting to the cancer. Hoping there's someone out there like me ..

  • Abnormal cells detected 2009 (14yo)

  • May 2014 got the all clear

Hi Jenna,

I have same diagmosis and found out on same day. I was also in hospital for 4 days and was told the same, either I had an infection they couldnt find or it was my body reacting to the tumour. Antibiotics and Paracetamols through vein helped and feel better now so fingers crossed for you too. xxxx

Bleeding started May 2016 during pregnancy - told cervix is "angry"

Nov 16th 2016 - referral for colposcopy due to continued bleeding 9 weeks post partum

Nov 23rd 2016 - mass found during colposcopy

2nd Dec 2016 diagnosed stage 2b grade 2 squamous cell cervical cancer with node involvement.

19th Dec 2016 PET scan and EUA showed no further spread

21st Dec letter arrives stating cancer in both parametrium plus posterior vaginal fornix and both common and iliac nodes.

17th Jan chemoradiation starts - 28 radiation, 5 cisplatin chemotherapy

Hi :)

i had a fever every day for nearly a year...had so many tests and loads of visits to the doctors but they never took me seriously!! when I finally got diagnosed they said it was my bodies way of trying to fight the cancer!! As soon as i had my hysterectomy my temp was back to norm and has been ever since...once treatment starts yours should go back to norm!! 2b is very curable, there's plenty of ladies on jos that have been through it and out the other side leading normal lives again!!;) chemoradio is tiring but def not as bad as you think...bowel issues are likely to happen but not till 2-3 weeks in and then before you know it you'll be through the treatment!! postive thoughts sent your way :)

I was always in hospital with infections and a temp - I've not long been poorly and had a high temp but because i am now allergic to paracetamol I couldn't bring it down so I stood on my back door step with just my top and pj bottoms and stayed there until I cooled down and since then I've had no temp. Sometimes your body warms itself up to fight.

with you now being sick and having a bad stomach it might be the antibiotics they always make me bad - have they taken bloods?? Have they picked up an infection?? that should be the first thing they should of done is bloods to see if you have an infection if so what so they can deal with it....I'd be very surprised if they haven't.

if your after tips on what to bring to your chemo session - something to eat, something to read or occupy you and a drink - they give you a sandwich if your there at dinner time and they provide water tea coffee etc but having something to read was always a help I found

They ran every test to find an infection and I'm infection free. Thanks for the tips :)

Hi sorry for delay in replying been busy with work etc!!

i would def say it's your body reacting to the cancer if they have check for infection!! I felt really unwell in myself dizzy high temp awful periods!! It was my body trying to say it wasn't well!! have they given you anything for sickness/diarrhoe?!

With the chemo day take along Ipad/kindle..take some nice snacks as it's quite a long day...you can recline the chairs and nap if you want to so maybe a wrap to put round You...I never did nap as was too busy chatting to everyone, as strange as it sounds we had such good laughs i meet some really lovely people, and going through the same as you so was nice to talk to them and have support off each other!! You will be fine tho and treatment will fly by!! You'll be taken good care of and hopefully you get some meds to help with the symptoms you have already!! Take care :) xxx
