Scared about results day

Hi

found out likely cc at a colposcopy on 12th June, which was confirmed on 24th June. Was very shocked as did not expect that at all.

I have been for MRI, CT and EUA. Clinically staged at 1b1. At EUA I was told it had gone into perimetrium so would not be a hysterectomy, but radiation and chemo.I then had a PET scan and am now terrified it’s spread even more.

The waiting is the worst, as it feels like this has been going on forever, but actually all this has taken a month.

I am now terrified of going to results day on Tuesday as my mind is all over the place thinking the worst one minute, then being positive the next. I want to find out, but at the same time I don’t and just want to bury my head and pretend all of this is not happening.

Needed to get that all off my chest - so thankyou

Hey lovely,

I’m right there with you, this is just a terrifying time and you’ve pretty much summed up my life right now. I found out on the 24th June I had cc and my results day is tomorrow.

There is light at the end of the tunnel and you will do this, good luck for Tuesday I will be thinking of you.

Emma xx

Hi both

I am feeling exactly the same. I had my MRI a week ago and still waiting for an appointment for results, I don't know staging or anything yet so it's really hard not to think the worst and I worry it's spread everywhere. Every little niggle is putting my mind into overdrive! I know I need to know the results but at the same time I just don't want to know and runaway from everything.

February 2019 - first ever abnormal smear. HPV high risk strain detected.

April 2019 - colposcopy for biopsies

3rd June 2019 - LLETZ for CIN3

28th June 2019 - cancer diagnosed

7th July - MRI - staged at 1b1 isolated to the cervix

5th August 2019 - radical hysterectomy with lymph node removal planned

emmz13

Hi welshgirly,

omg every ache, pain and twinge sends my mind into overdrive, I do spend half my time driving myself crazy and the other half trying to calm myself down.

We are strong amazing women and we will deal with whatever we have to, I hope you get good result soon lovely. Big hugs xx

  1. Hi lovelies,

hope you ladies are doing okay - I’ve been thinking of you both.the waiting is the hardest part.

Got  results - it’s treatable - very, very thankful for that.

They said I was a ‘complex case’h and I have to decide on treatment. Either RH or chemorads

After EUA, clinically I am a 2B as they thought it had gone into the perimetrium, but radiologist is saying from the scans it looks like it has not,so radiologically staging me at 1B1.

It would be an open radical hysterectomy.

We need to avoid dual treatment as  would need chemorads too if it had gone into other tissue/ nodes.

I want to make sure it’s gone and never comes back.

Welshgirly

I've been staged at 1b1 from MRI and had examinations yesterday under general anaesthetic which stage me the same. I'm booked in for a radical hysterectomy on 5th August, lymph nodes will be removed and tested and if these are clear the radical hysterectomy is surgery to cure. I'm dreading the pain but so thankful that it can be treated xx

Noodlesdoodles and Emmz I've been thinking about you, how do u both feel now you know the plan for treatment? I'm sending lots of hugs your way... cwtches from Wales xxxx

Welshgirly!!

That is amazing news!!! Omg I’m so pleased I know the prospect of surgery is a scary thing but you are awesome and will handle the pain i am sure of it. You are one step closer to kicking  this things butt well and truly!

I am ok I’ve come to terms with my stage and all that goes with it, I was just hoping beyond hope that it could start sooner rather than later which it isn’t but all that matters is a positive outcome no matter how long it takes.

Welshgirly thank you for the update it really fills me with joy to hear some positives, I hope you have a lovely weekend, big cwtches right back at you.

loads of love Emma xxxx

Hi Emmz

I hope your first few days went ok for you and it’s less scary now you have started officially kicking it into touch. Keep smiling and know we are right here to support you all the way.xxx

Welshgirly

Thank you all for your amazing and uplifting messages. It's so lovely to know you're all rooting for me and each other. How is everyone doing?

I'm 1 week 1 day post radical hysterectomy and apart from feeling sore I'm doing a lot better than I expected I would be. The journey home from hospital was a nightmare but I'm focusing on the positives now. I had my catheter removed yesterday yay! I had to pee 3 times before I could come home but I finally did it :) I had a lovely shower this morning which felt amazing! :) who knew a shower could feel so good?! :) I hope you are all doing ok, thinking of you all xx
