A bit scared

Hi there,

hope someone can help! I've received a letter today informing me I have a positive HPV result and abnormal cells. I have been told I will need a colposcopy but i am really worried about what my partner must think about me. Is it normal to be feeling like this?

any help or advice welcomed.

absolutely normal.
it comes as a shock - I was terrible and just kept crying.

I hope your partner is supportive to you, it is very infectious and can lie latent. He may have even given it to you himself

Age 55

first HPV positive and abnormal smear test result (borderline) December 2020/January 2021. Definitely a new infection from the last 4 and a half years.

Colposcopy -March 2021,seemed low risk.

Biopsy showed CIN2

LLETZ May 24th, or earlier if I get a cancellation.
