CIN3 and invited for LLETZ treatment

Hi I've recently had my results from a colposcopy showing I have CIN3 and require loop diathermy excisional treatment. I was a bit shocked to receive the letter as both my smear showed low grade changes, and the lady who carried out my initial colposcopy last month also thought it was minor changes - so to come back with CIN3 kind of threw me a little bit.
Just wanted some advice or people's experience in going for the treatment, particularly mid-pandemic which makes me feel even more anxious.
I am quite an anxious person at the best of times and the thought of any kind of treatment worries me a lot. I found the original colposcopy quite daunting.

Any help or advice would be great. Thanks for reading.

I haven't had it yet but will find our next Wednesday if I will do ( I've been taken to MDT as similarly to you the changes looked low grade at smear/ colposcopy but are CIN 2).

As far as I understand it has a good rate of success

Colposcopy -March 2021,seemed low risk.

Biopsy showed CIN2

LLETZ May 24th, or earlier if I get a cancellation.

Hi,

If you look at the first couple of comments in my post within my back story I've done a step by step break down of my experience having a colposcopy LLETZ and what helped.

Biggest tip is to take nice, slow, deep breaths and relax your muscles from your shoulders to your toes. Practice whilst you're calm at home, and it will be easier when you're at the hospital x

Just to add, I asked for entenox ( providing they offer me lletz-hasn't been finalised)

Is entonox a muscle relaxant Rebecca? Xx

It's gas and air

its what they often offer in labour- makes you a bit drunk but wears off quickly

I've just had my smear results and they show high risk hpv and low grade dyskariosis, I've got my colposcopy on May 11th which I'm not looking forward to but I've already told them even if the cell changes are low I would rather have the lletz done on the same day. Both my sister and friend had lletz about 15 and 8 years ago and apart from heavy bleeding and cramps after they have both been fine.
