Feel guilty about having anxiety

I'm not sure if this is were I post

Last year after sex I bled for 10 weeks and had various colours of discharge. By week 6 I seen my gp and she gave me a internal said she couldn't feel anything and referred me as urgent to gynaecology . Gynaecology changed it to non urgent by the time my appointment was due the bleeding had stopped and I cancelled my appointment. My relationship ended so I didn't Have sex again

Ocassionly after this I had the odd discharge between periods, anyway I have had a pain around my c section scar what comes and goes. I met someone knew and the twice after we have had sex I have been bleeding after it. 12 days on and I have brown discharge since.

i plucked up the courage to contact my doctors surgery the doctor I spoke to on the phone was vile to me speaking to me like a child and making me feel like I'm going to die as I have not had a smear test in 11 years. I know this is very silly of me but I have crippling anxiety and do not cope well. Anyway I have an appointment with her next week to examine me I am terrified that she will hurt me I haven't slept right for the last two nights and have loss of appetite. It's putting me off going.

I am terrified I'm going to die and I know it's my fault but anxiety will not rationalise my stupidity.

Hi hun, I have somewhat similar symptoms to yours, I have much more than just bleeding after sex and bloody discharge, but without going through all my symptoms I'd like to share my experience with you as I too have had c-sections and I was referred to gynae as urgent and when u got there I was told the pain and bleedign could be because of old c-sections... It's silly I think, but that's what I've been told xx

Thank you for replying. I have managed to change doctors so the one I am seeing is going to examine me and take some swabs. The nurse will give me a smear since it's been so long. I'm so scared x

Hi Sar,

I'm sending you much love. I'm so pleased to see you've managed to get to see a more understanding GP.

Anxiety is such a difficult condition to live with and so many don't understand how debilitating it can be. If you really struggle do ask your supportive GP about options available to you to help you relax.

You could also try listening to some guided relaxations on YouTube beforehand to help you get used to relaxing your body, and then listen to the same relaxation during your procedure xx

11/1 Routine smear

26/1 LLETZ

16/3 MDT - Biopsy sent for further tests

Sorry for the late reply.  I have payed £100s for treatment and it hasn't helped. :(
had my smear today and I just couldn't really relax the nurse struggled to get the spectolum in and once it did go on I was bleeding a lot. Was so embarrassed, I am getting sent for a coloscopy and I do not know how I am going to cope if only I could get knocked out.

Hi

You might want to consider asking a one off prescription for something like Diazepam - I do a lot of awareness raising about smear tests and some ladies I've met have told me that's what they take to help them get through smears and colposcopies.
