Leep

So I was diagnosed with HPV 16 years ago and have had abnormal paps. Shortly after giving birth I had another pap and they decided I should have a colposcopy. The results showed cin 3. I was devastated. I was scheduled for a leep procedure. Today they called to tell me that I did not receive clear margins. She wants to see me in 4 months.
Although it’s not cancerous I’m afraid it will turn cancerous. I don’t want to wait 4 months.
I want to schedule another leep to get this thing out. I’m super nervous and devestated.

Hi

I totally understand you're fear. I did not have clear margins following my first lletz (diagnosed with stage 1A). My consultant advised that there is a Hugh likelihood off the remaining cells being removed with the electrical loop edges that burn the tissue to separate the cervix sample at lletz. I'm not sure if that makes sense. They advised waiting for 6 weeks before performing another to allow cervix to heal.  I had to have a repeat after 6 weeks to confirm staging. However while I was waiting on staging etc I was told these cells do not spread quickly and not to worry about the timescale for things.
It might be worth calling the colposcopy clinic and asking for an appointment to discuss things again and try and get a slightly earlier appointment if you're really worried.
