Have my colposcopy appointment tomorrow and feeling very nervous.
For all of you who had treatment on the same day, how did you feel after, we’re you able to go back to work?
You need to have the rest of the day off. My treatment was pain free and I felt fine but would not have been able to work that afternoon.
I was lucky that the day after my treatment was my day off anyway. I felt physically ok but was absolutely exhausted. I think for me this was emotional rather than physical.
Look after yourself. Your emotional/mental wellbeing is as important as your physical recovery
Thank you, I will keep that in mind and stay at home!
I had two days off and definitely needed it. I was so tired and I was bleeding quite heavily. The Lletz was absolutely fine though so please try not to worry about that.
Good luck x
Thank you, the bleeding is what I'm worried about, I work in a school so it's quite physical, I'll see how I go x
I work in a school too. On my feet all day.
There is a wide range of normal. I didn't bleed at all until 6 days after my lletz.
I had my 1st colposcopy on Thurs and had a LLETZ too. The dr said she could see enough changes on cervix to say that she recommended doing the treatment there.
The 1st, out of the 4 local anesthetic was a bit stingy but nothing unbearable at all. The actual cutting the cervix away I didn't even know was done. I did take a while to stop bleeding but that wasn't anything traumatic either.
The dr I had was so lovely she explained absolutely everything that was happening. The 2 nurses were great too. They knew I was really really anxious and really did look after me.
I've had some cramps on and off and i have sadly got a little infection thats causing some pain and I'm knackered for some reason xz
Thank you for sharing your experience, sorry to hear you arnt feeling great, look after yourself x
I think its cause i came home to the 4 kids and got on with it instead of resting that day like I was told
You'll be totally fine at the appointment xx
I agree with what everyone else says you should definitely take the rest of the day off. I had my lletz then went straight to a meeting (I work in the hospital I got my colposcopy in). After about an hour I started to feel quite crampy and was glad once it finished and went home. I was at work the next day no problem and I have a physical job however everyone is different.
Good luck, it’s wasnt half as bad as I thought xxxx

I had the day off work when I had mine done and went back the next day. The procedure is nothing to worry about. It didn't hurt not did the biopsys when they were taken. I felt a little uncomfortable after but more like period pain. I took some painkillers before hand as I suffer with menstrual cramps anyway.
Good luck today, I'll be thinking of you xx
All went ok, they took a look and agreed with the smear result so went ahead with Lletz, as everyone said the anesthetic stung a little and I could feel a little what they were doing, a couple of imvoluntary shakes of the legs and a little uncomfortable but all over really quickly. Been resting all day and just feels a little strange and quite crampy. Feel quite emotional and sick but think that just the relief of it all being over! Thank you to everyone for your kind words xxx
I'm glad to hear it went well for you. Make sure you rest up tonight. Hopefully you won't have a long wait for your results and fingers crossed everything is ok with them x
hope you are feeling well, sounds like you have had a tough time! Xx
Glad it went well. Rest up and hopefully you'll be feeling much better tomorrow xxxx
