Colposcopy and LLETZ for abnormal/ vascular growth

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this is a bit scattered, but I'm a bit of a mess still! I had an examination on the 7th of November after unexplained bleeding after sex, which had been happening for a while. She noted that there was a wart type growth and I was referred for a Colposcopy, which was today. The consultant wasn't happy with what she saw, said and showed me that there was indeed a wart like growth, underneath there was a vascular growth however, which is what concerned her, and probably what has been causing the bleeding, this thing covered the majority of my cervix. This was removed via LLETZ, and has been sent off as urgent, but I'm struggling to get my head around what this is. I had a smear last year which was normal as far as I'm aware, so it's a not so typical referral as I don't know what was abnormal to begin with, well, other than the growth. she did mention the possibility of pre cancerous cells, and checked that I wasn't travelling anywhere in the coming weeks, I think this has scared me more.

Having to play the waiting game over Christmas isn't helping! Has anyone had anything similar?
