Do all LLETZ get sent as urgent?

Hi,

I have received a letter today to say my LLETZ has been sent as urgent (31/62). What does (31/62) mean please? How quickly should I expect urgent results to come back? Or do all LLETZ get sent as urgent (31/62). My smear results where high grade moderate dyskaryosis so this would be CIN 2?

Hi Katie,

I'm sorry you have had a letter without further explanation. I'd definitely recommend speaking to your colposcopy clinic and asking for a chat to understand why you've received it.

I'm not a medical expert, but my understanding from extensive reading is that everyone's biopsies are treated the same in a lab. Whether it be a lletz biopsy or punch biopsy.

The biopsies are tissue and therefore have a shelf life before testing becomes impossible.

Perhaps they thought the letter may reassure you that they are seeking to find out your results as soon as possible?

Thank you for the reply, I'm sure I will know soon enough. Waiting for results is causing me more anxiety than the actual treatment.
