2 week referral after post menopausal bleeding

Hello

So, just when I thought my visits to the gynaecology department were over I had some post menopausal bleeding 31st July ongoing. Saw GP and because I am 56 the protocol is a fast track referral for transvaginal scan and possible hysteroscopy this Friday 14th August. I know it may be nothing sinister and most of the time I am keeping calm but wish I could just get the tests out of the way and find out what the cause is.  I have had a transvaginal scan several years ago and coped ok but have never had a hysteroscopy before. Is there anyone on here who has? The GP checked and said the bleeding seems to be coming from my womb so this is not a cervical issue; my cervix has been checked a lot since last September so I thought it wasn't! Has anyone had same or similar experience? Any advice would be gratefully received! Fed up with the worry of it all!!! Thanks for reading!

1st ever abnormal smear hpv & severe high grade dyskaryosis August 2019 lletz September 2019 polyp & nabothian cyst found Results hpv & mild cell changes polyp innocent Repeat colposcopy Dec 2019 test of cure January 2020 results of test of cure; no high risk HPV present , check up colposcopy appointment in June because of the discrepancy between initial smear & lletz result - June 2020 repeat colposcopy & pap - all clear - discharged from hospital - next smear in 3 yrs Back again August 2020 following post menopausal bleed; more tests! Turned out to be hormonal/menopause related but they also discovered a small ovarian cyst which they will check again in 4 months; cyst was not related to bleeding

So, I had my appointment on Friday and a TV scan. The scan showed that the thickness of my womb lining was what they termed 'nice and thin' so I didn't have to have a hysteroscopy. They think the bleed was probably due to my declining oestrogen levels so they advised me to continue with the HRT I'm on and work with my GP to get the correct dosage. To my surprise the scan has revealed a small ovarian cyst which I had no idea was there. As I am post menopausal I have to have another scan in 4 months time to make sure the cyst hasn't grown. It's on my left ovary. Has anyone else here had this?

Best wishes to all
