Has CIN3 ruined my sex life?

Hi,

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I am new to the forum.

I had a LLETs a year and a half ago now after my smear came back abnormal...well in fact I had the LLETs twice within 6 months of each other because aparently they didn't get it all the first time! During this time I was a bit freaked out having sex. I waited the 6 weeks each time, but even after this it would be unfortable and I would bleed a little. The second time round I was wiser and left it a lot longer....a lot lot longer! I totaly lost my labido! Although the few times since ,sex has been ok, no discomfort and no bleeding. I think a lot of the whole 'not wanting to have sex' was prob a mental thing as I had been hurt since the LLETS in the past.

However, last night me and my partner were intermit and ever since I have been in so much pain and I haven't stopped bleeding. I am really worried that something is up! I had a letter from my GP last week asking me to book my yearly smear and I have an appointment with them next week. Am I panicking about nothing? I know that I shouldn't really be worried until I have had my smear and talked it through with the GP but I really do want to go through everything ALL over again....I would also like my sex life back! (And I am sure my fiance would also!!!)

:( Sorry to hear you're having these problems with pain and bleeding. I know there are other causes for that, but I understand completely that your head would immediately go to the problems of the past and blame it on the CIN3. It's so easy to say not to worry until after your smear, but not terribly realistic. The idea of going through the process of tests and waiting for results and colposcopies and waiting for results and LLETZ and waiting for results ... it's a nightmare scenario to go through once ... but to have to go through it again would be absolutely torturous!

What's happening certainly doesn't sound right, but really, it could be caused by a lot of things. It's good that you already have your smear booked for next week so you can get it checked out quickly. The sooner you get whatever is happening checked out and resolved, the sooner you will be able to start enjoying a full and happy relationship with your fiance.

Best of luck! I hope everything works out well for you. *big hugz*

Thank you!
I know it's too early to panic, but thought I would ask, see if anyone had any idea / experienced this before. But I guess I will just have to wait, really don't want to have to go through the whole process again though, thought it was all behind me now. *fingers crossed*
