#SmearForSmear 2019

#SmearForSmear 2019

Join us this week (21 - 27 January) for #SmearForSmear

Smear tests aren’t easy for everyone, but they can save lives.

The number of people going for smear tests is lower than ever. Together we can change this! We want everyone to know what a smear test is for, why they’re important and ways to make them better.

How to get involved this week

It’s simple! Post a #SmearForSmear selfie with a tip or word of support. Your post might be the reminder or encouragement someone needs to book their test, it could literally save their life. With over 1.2 million people not taking up their invite each year it’s more important than ever.

Take a look at everyone's #SmearForSmear posts here!

Make it your test

Smear tests aren’t easy for everybody, but there are ways to make them better. Read our tips on how to make your test more comfortable and help you feel more in control.

Find out what it’s all about

Smear tests prevent 75% of cervical cancers, so while they may not be pleasant, they are important. Join the campaign to ensure every woman understands the importance of screening in preventing cervical cancer. Remember our helpline is here for any questions or concerns– we’re here to support you.

Let’s talk about it

There are lots of reasons smear tests can be difficult. But however you feel and whatever your question or concern, you’re not alone. Read our blog series Let’s Talk About It to find out tips which could make attending that bit easier.

Share our film, a tip or word of support so that other women feel more in control and confident to book their smear test. Don’t forget to tag us and #SmearForSmear in your post! (@jotrust - Twitter, @joscervicalcancertrust - Instagram)
