Mini Meet

Mini Meets are our ongoing calendar of events for women living with and beyond cervical cancer.

Location: We will be in Newcastle on Saturday 14th March 2020 and Belfast 2nd May 2020. Keep any eye on this page for updates!

What is Mini Meet?

"The day was excellent, especially laughter in PRD talk!"

Mini Meet is an opportunity to meet others in your area who have had a cervical cancer diagnosis. Our annual event Let’s Meet is extremely popular and so we are now running smaller, local get-togethers to ensure as many women as possible have the opportunity to attend an event. Our information and support events are free events for you and a loved one.

"I was able to talk about issues without fear or judgement"

The day provides you an opportunity to connect with others, share experiences and get answers to your questions in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Each year we take Mini Meet to new locations across the UK. This 2019 we went to Hull and Cardiff. In previous years we have held a Mini Meet in Birmingham (2017), and Glasgow (2018).

It doesn't matter when you received your diagnosis, whether it was recently, or many years ago. Mini Meet is there for everyone who has ever received a cervical cancer diagnosis. No matter what treatment you received, this day is for you.

 About the day

“[The best thing was] learning that other people are going through the same things whether physical or psychological”

Mini Meet events include an Ask the Gynae-Oncologist session, two workshops, lunch, refreshments throughout the day, and time for attendees to connect with each other.

Attendees can choose two workshops from the following list:

  • Sex and intimacy changes after cervical cancer: this session allows for a discussion on the different sex and intimacy issues that can occur after diagnosis and treatment, and some hints and tips to help.
  • Looking after your mental health: this session explores the anxiety and emotional issues that can happen after a cancer diagnosis, and looks at the psychological issues that can arise at the end of cancer treatment.
  • Early menopause and HRT: this session provides an overview of the menopause and the facts about HRT, as well as other treatments for treating menopausal symptoms.
  • Pelvic radiation disease: this session provides time to address the late effects that can happen as a result of chemo-radiotherapy and talk about ways to manage the problems that you may be having.

We really hope you can join us at our next event.

"Thank you for a great supportive day it has really helped me to move in the direction I need help with now"
