Living with a diagnosis

The Christie Foundation Trust in Manchester and the University of Manchester are working together on a new research project. They were told by patients living with advanced cancer that being able to talk to someone who had similar experiences to them soon after their diagnosis would have been helpful and they now want to see if it is possible to deliver this as a practical service.

They are looking for volunteers in the Manchester area over the age of 18 who are able to speak and write fluent English and received a diagnosis of cancer more than 6 months ago.

If you are willing to spend a couple of hours per week to act as ‘buddies’ to people who have recently received their diagnosis please contact Diane Roberts at the University of Manchester for further information.
