If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that the smallest things can make the biggest impact.
Run for Heroes was the charity which started the infamous 5km running challenge – Run 5, Donate 5, Nominate 5 – during the first lockdown. It went virtual, became a fitness motivation for people and raised millions for NHS charities.
After the success of last year they are turning the month of May into a celebration of physical activity with 5k May! Everyone is invited to take part, including Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust supporters!
The idea is the same hit that 5km target, donate £5 to Jo’s and nominate 5 friends to do the same. It’s not just about running though – you could walk, roller-skate, skip or swim your 5km.
You can take part on your own or as part of a group. Famous faces such as Mo Farrah, Ellie Goulding and even Prime Minister Boris Johnson took part last year, so keep a look out for famous faces while completing your 5k.
