Woman V Cancer/ cycling challenge

The first Women V Cancer cycle ride!

Women V Cancer is a series of cycle challenges in support of three important charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action. The funds raised are spilt equally between the charities and used to fund their important work.

Five Cycle Kenya trips in 2011/2012 saw 386 women find fitness, fun and friendship as well as raise an incredible £272,000 for each charity.

Michelle, Women V Cancer Participant

“I was 35 when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I was fit and healthy, ate well, didn’t smoke or drink and I worked as a fire fighter. I was referred to the Royal Marsden where I had pioneering treatment to remove my cervix which luckily caught all of the cancer.

It was 6 years later that I stumbled across Women V Cancer. With the opportunity to raise funds for others affected by cervical cancer in such an amazing way, I was desperate to get a place on the Cycle Kenya tour.

The challenge was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The landscape, Kenyan community and the other women on the cycle made it a fantastic experience. So much so that I’m now getting ready to complete this year’s Cycle India challenge and am even thinking about having a go at Cycle Cuba!”

The Women V Cancer challenge for 2014 is Cycle China and 2015 Cycle Africa, for more information click here.
