Take steps towards a future free from cervical cancer. Take steps for the women you love.
Steps for Jo’s is Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust’s annual 5k or 10k sponsored walk or run, which takes place at the start of Cervical Screening Awareness Week (CSAW). It is a great way to get people together to increase the national profile of cervical cancer and raise vital funds, but just as importantly to celebrate life and to remember those who have lost their battle with the disease. Steps for Jo’s is happening over the weekend of 13 – 14 June 2015:
Manchester 5k – Saturday 13 June, Dunham Massey, 9am
Ayrshire 5k – Saturday 13 June, Eglinton Country Park, 10am
Gosport 5k – Saturday 13 June, Salterns Road, 10.30am
London 5k or 10k – Sunday 14 June, Hyde Park, 10am
Glasgow 5k – Sunday 14 June, Bellahouston Park, 11am
We are looking for Steps Stewards for the London event – read more here. Make sure you join the Facebook event and invite your friends!
Who are you taking steps for?
“I am taking steps in memory of Angela Tugwell, my sister and best friend, who bravely fought cervical cancer for 6 months, in the hope that I can prevent other families from going through our loss. Organising Steps for Jo’s last year was a positive way of showing my love for my sister at a time when I was finding it very hard to cope with her loss.” Julie Hibbert, sister
“I take steps in memory of all the ladies that I have had the pleasure of meeting and supporting within my role as a Macmillan gynaecology specialist nurse. Every step I take raises awareness, not only to my friends, family and work colleagues, but also to the general public and as I do this I feel a sense of achievement.” Helen Savage, nurse
“I take part in Steps for Jo’s to support my wife Suzanne who is a survivor, and because we are involved in the charity. Also I take part to help raise awareness for this great charity which has been working tirelessly to support those affected by cervical cancer.” Kester Fernando, husband
“I take steps for Jo’s because I’d like thank the charity that has helped me through my treatments for cervical cancer and bringing together a fabulous bunch of ladies who are always with me, each step of the way.” Lindsey Rogers, survivor
