Women V Cancer Cycle Rides

Women V Cancer is a series of incredible womens-only overseas cycling challenges to benefit Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer Care and Ovarian Cancer Action. Over three years, Women V Cancer has held events in Kenya, India, Cuba and China, and have raised a staggering £4.5 million for the beneficiary charities. Michelle, Women V Cancer: Cycle India Participant

“I was 35 when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I was fit and healthy, ate well, didn’t smoke or drink and I worked as a fire fighter. I was referred to the Royal Marsden where I had pioneering treatment to remove my cervix which luckily caught all of the cancer. It was 6 years later that I stumbled across Women V Cancer. With the opportunity to raise funds for others affected by cervical cancer in such an amazing way, I was desperate to get a place on the Cycle Kenya tour. The challenge was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The landscape, Kenyan community and the other women on the cycle made it a fantastic experience. So much so that I’m now getting ready to complete this year’s Cycle India challenge and am even thinking about having a go at Cycle Cuba!”
