Organise your own event

Thank you for choosing to fundraise for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. By working together and holding your own event it is a brilliant way to raise money towards helping Jo’s be here for women and their families for as long as we are needed.

Whether you raise £50 from a bake sale, £500 in a sponsored sport event or £5,000 at a charity ball, every penny makes a difference. We are here to support you every step of the way. Get in touch with our fundraising team on [email protected] and we’ll send you a free fundraising pack to get you started.

Fundraising ideas

Not sure what to do? Whether you are fundraising at home, in school, at work or in your community, here are some ideas to help get you started.

With Friends and Family

  • Hold a charity ball or black tie event.
  • Host an afternoon tea at home either bake your own scones or fake it and buy some from the shops. Ask for a donation for people to come to your afternoon tea.
  • Spring clean and sell your unwanted items at a car boot sale or put them up on eBay.
  • Invite friends and family round for a dinner party. You could even make it a themed night with the menu being dishes from somewhere around the world.

Bake sale for Jo'sFundraise at work

  • Sweepstake. Is there a big event coming up? Choose anything from the Cheltenham races to Eurovision charge a donation to be involved and the winner will receive half the money and the other half goes to Jo’s.
  • Bake Sale. These are always popular at work! No-one can resist a cake or sweet treat especially when it’s helping to raise money.
  • Dress down day or wear something pink ask for a donation for a day of dressing down or dressing in pink.
  • Lunch & learn. If you have a skill like knitting or if you’re a yoga instructor teach your colleagues during the lunch hour and ask them for a donation to attend.

Swimming fundraiser for Jo'sFundraise in the community

  • Host a golf day. If you’re not already a member speak to your local golf club and charge people a fee to come along. You can even hold a raffle on the day.
  • Bingo! Speak with your local community hall and ask to have a bingo night there. Charge a fee to play each game and the winner of the full house can receive half the pot the other half will be donated to Jo’s.
  • How’s your general knowledge? Ask your local pub if you can hold a quiz night. Charge teams an entry fee to play, you can download some quiz questions from the internet and ask local businesses to supply prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and last place teams.
  • Sell a skill. Are you a talented face painter? Are you good at arts & crafts? Attend your local Christmas or summer fayre and sell your skills. Let people know that you are also donating the profits to Jo’s.
