Being a Jo's volunteer

Welcome to the Jo’s volunteering community. We are so pleased you have joined team Jo’s!

Volunteering is a great way to give back to a charity you care about; it can also be a way to make friends, and gain new skills.

Why volunteer for Jo’s

We are a small charity, with a big mission - to reach a day where cervical cancer is a thing of the past. We can’t reach this goal without your help! Our volunteers help us spread our cervical cancer prevention messages, and also support those living with and beyond a diagnosis.

Our helpliners alone have reached over 1500 people in 2018, and our Ask the Expert panellists have answered questions nearly 2000 questions. This is all thanks to your hard work!

Volunteering is also a great way to boost your CV, through building administrational skills, interpersonal skills, being able to deliver complex health messages, and many more.

Training and Support

We want all of our volunteers to feel confident in their role and supported through every step of the journey.

All volunteers will have a Jo’s induction learning more about Jo’s, our staff, and more about the role you will be doing.  Then depending on the position, you will get role specific training.

You will also have your main Jo’s staff contact who will look after you throughout your time volunteering at Jo’s.
