#SmearForSmear 2018

#SmearForSmear 2018: 22 - 28 January 2018

Thank you to everyone who got invovled with #SmearForSmear 2018 during Cervical Cancer Prevention WeekWe are overwhelmed by the huge number of social media posts, conversations which have been started and most importantly, smear test appointments booked.

Watch our #SmearForSmear video to find out more about the 2018 campaign:

Impact of the campaign

#SmearForSmear posts often act as the reminder or encouragement someone needs to book their smear test appointment. Here is some of the feedback we received:
  • "Made my smear test appointment today - it has been 6 years since my last test and your recent publicity has made me gain the courage to get tested! You're making a real difference xx"
  • "Thanks for the reminder - now all booked in"
  • "As a GP receptionist the phone has not stopped ringing today with ladies booking in for smears"
  • "If I'm being totally honest, I probably would have forgot about booking one for months if I hadn't seen the Smear For Smear campaign"
  • "Just phoned and booked my smear test after putting it off for 5 years"
  • "Until recently, I thought it was just me anxious about smear tests - if anything the #SmearForSmear campaign this year reminded me - you're not alone, don't put it off, just do it!"
