Surgery for cervical cancer

Cervical cancer can often be treated with surgery if you have early stage cervical cancer that is still within the cervix (stages 1A to 1B1). The aim is to remove all of the cancer.

You may have other types of treatment after surgery, such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy (chemoradiation). These can help treat cervical cancer that has spread or reduce the risk of cervical cancer coming back.

We know that thinking about or having surgery can feel overwhelming. If you need some extra support, we are here for you. You may want to call our free Helpline on 0808 802 8000 or connect with others on our Forum
