Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust gains Information Standard accreditation

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, the UK’s only charity dedicated to women affected by cervical abnormalities and cervical cancer has been certified as a provider of high quality health and social care information by The Information Standard scheme.

The charity met the scheme criteria of producing safe and reliable health and social care information and has been awarded The Information Standard quality mark, which it can display on its literature and website illustrating to the public that its information can be trusted.

The Information Standard, which is supported by the Department of Health, verifies and ensures organisations have excellent material production procedures and information the public can find quickly, easily and can trust. Any organisation that produces health and social care information can apply to become a certified member of the scheme.

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust offers a range of information and support both online and face to face including: a helpline; online forum; local support groups; awareness programmes; online “Ask The Expert” advice; Let’s Meet events; information materials and campaigns for excellence in cervical cancer treatment and prevention.

Education and Information Co-ordinator at Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Claire Cohen said: "Since its foundation the charity has always been committed to producing high quality, easily accessible and reliable medical information."

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust offers a wide range of information about cervical abnormalites and cervical cancer, which will now be able to carry the Information Standard mark.
